Used your excellent guide to set up Transmission 2.50 in Freenas 8.04
After adding a torrent dl starts, but soon
“couldnt create //Downloads, Read Only file-system fdlimit.c:360″

Transmission is set up in CIFS Share. I have no problem on manipulating the contents of the Downloads -folder
The TM Remote Gui is set up to run as “root” so I cant understand why there is a problem with rights…

The reason why you are getting this is because the FreeNAS filesystem is read only. I suggest editing where your settings.json file is stored, check Step 2c again.
You need to edit the ${transmission_home:=”/var/transmission”} variable (to say where your torrent files will be stored) and this should fix your issue.

But i’m have this message :
“Unauthorized IP Address.
Either disable the IP address whitelist or add your address to it.
If you’re editing settings.json, see the ‘rpc-whitelist’ and ‘rpc-whitelist-enabled’ entries.
If you’re still using ACLs, use a whitelist instead. See the transmission-daemon manpage for details.”

I don’t know edit settings.json
i’ve created in /root/.config/transmission-daemon/ and i write “rpc-whitelist-enabled: false” :D

If you have your settings.json in the correct directory, find the
following setting: “rpc-whitelist-enabled” and change true to false.

I’ve double checked and my transmission-daemon runs as root too, no issues here.
