Fast & Furious ’09

I kind of had high hopes for the new Fast & Furious movie, I’m not sure exactly why.. The movie is apparently a interquel which set between 2 Fast 2 Furious and Tokyo Drift with Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Michelle Rodriguez, and Jordana Brewster returning again.

To keep the plot outline brief.. Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker), is now working for the FBI in LA, he teams up with Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) who makes a return to Los Angeles after being informed his girlfriend Letty (Michelle Rodriguez) is murdered. They both work together to bring down a heroin importer by infiltrating his operation.

The CGI and effects are pretty mediocre and unrealistic to be honest. After the opening sequence with the petrol tanker, I thought here we go.. and I wasn’t wrong. One memorable moment is Brian O’Conner driving the Skyline R34 GT-R down a steep and bumpy hill without even tearing the front bar off. To top it off, Dominic Toretto opening the valve for the NOS bottle and pressing the cigarette lighter in, which creates a large explosion blowing up 4 cars in a row.. right.

Apart from this, I guess it wasn’t too bad of a watch. Definitely prefer the original and Tokyo Drift. p.s – I just love Jordana Brewster.
